When you need a dirty deed done dirt cheap look no further than my dirtmound asset. It's a lightweight rig which pulls an alembic file created via instanceToGeo. Not much to the rig besides a frame control and a custom shader. Good for dirtmound type of effects like creatures popping out of the ground.
